Celtic Carols By Candlelight
'Good people all, this Christmas-time'…'
Evoking the spirit of the ancient Celtic church, Olivia's alternative carol concert explores Advent and Christmas through the eyes of pioneering Irish monks, Anglo-Saxon bards, warrior kings and Northumbrian saints. The hour-long performance features a haunting accoustic programme of carols, hymns, chants and dance tunes drawn from as far back as the 6th century. The ancient languages of Britain and Ireland are heard accompanied by resonant drones and the ethereal strains of the Celtic harp.
Designed for performance in historic churches, half of the proceeds from each performances go towards the upkeep and care of the respective venue.
Celtic Carols By Candlelight was performed for the first time in the stunning surrounds of the historic Holy Trinity Goodramgate, York, in December 2024. The show toured rural and urban churches and abbeys in Yorkshire throughout November & December of 2025.
